Colin Wins Third at Longwood

In June, Colin won the Clarence Snyder Third Prize at the Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition. This competition, with the largest first prize of any organ competition in the world, emphasizes transcriptions and orchestral organ-playing.

Colin's semi-final program consisted of Bach's Passacaglia, BWV 582; Debussy's Arabesque No. 1 (transcribed by Roques/MacKnight); and Schumann's Overture to Manfred, Op. 115 (transcribed by West/MacKnight).

His final round program was Barber's To Longwood Gardens; Rachmaninov's Prelude in C♯ minor, Op. 3, No. 2 (transcribed Hull/MacKnight); Vierne's Impromptu, Op. 54, No. 2; Liszt's Les préludes (transcribed Deutsch/MacKnight), and David Goode's Concert Fantasy on Themes by Gershwin.
